The McGarrett Home - Honolulu, HI - Saturday Morning
Steve wanted to go camping for the holiday weekend. And therefore Steve was going camping for the holiday weekend. Danny very much was not. Because he was sane and also took one look at the 'camp shower' that Steve had so proudly shown off and noped right on out.
That didn't mean he wasn't going to support this ridiculous plan, though. Mostly because Steve was taking the plethora of kids they'd either collected (Steve) or just had the old fashioned way (Danny).
"You sure you've got enough snacks?" Danny asked, shoving more into the cooler because he knew Charlie was perpetually one snack away from a meltdown.
[for the partner on some SP!]

Junior, elsewhere in the house, for sure froze up at that because he was being given a Very Important Task By His Maybe? Sorta? Boss?

With a bunch of dudes who would definitely be peeing in the woods? Shocking news.

"You're getting pretzels?" Steve asked, frowning sadly.

Which sort of did some things to Danny's heart.

Sorry, fully trained Navy SEAL, you were slotted in with the kids here.

"Reporting for duty, sir," Junior said, thundering down the stairs with a fully packed, Navy-issued backpack. He didn't have facepaint on, but it wouldn't be out of place with his general demeanor.
Steve sighed, still smiling. "Right. Why don't you help Charlie wash his hands and we'll get going."

Because he was a good husband.

And the child who would be the most sticky and dirty thing possible. How did he manage it? Who knows!

Steve couldn't even tell him to use an indoor voice when they were outdoors. Steve was going to be very tired.

He made you sandwiches and snuck you beer, Steve. He looooved you.

"Nahele!" Steve called. "Go time!"
Nahele came out from the back to give Danny a slightly awkward wave.

"Don't let them stay up too late," he joked. Because clearly Nahele would be the voice of reason here.

"Are there wipes in the bag?" Steve checked. He'd learned over the years.
