MCA #0, Tuesday Afternoon

Danny had been a cat for over a week. Which had been both better and worse than that weekend people turned into ponies.

But now he was human again. And sleeping inside the linen closet because cat things.

"...what the hell?"

He was still going to be mad about it, though.

"Danno?" Steve called from the kitchen. "You good?"

Aside from being in a closet?

"...been better," Danny said honestly, pawing (no pun intended) around for the handle to get out of there. "Of course I'm in a goddamn closet."

"You've had a very long week and so I'm going to refrain from the tacky jokes," Steve said, hustling over to open the door.

Did the linen closet even have a handle on the inside?

It did not! Which was why Danny was appreciative if still annoyed by the situation. "Thanks," he said dryly.

"You're welcome," Steve said, stepping aside to let Danny out.

He'd rewash and refold everything in the closet later because he was Definitely That Guy.

"Welcome back."

Especially the towel Danny snagged because cats don't wear clothes.

"Very good to be back," he replied with great feeling."What the hell even happened there?"

"You turned into a cat," Steve said. "A really mean cat."

[hatesparadise]

"You tried to go jogging with me!" Okay, that was a little defensive, Daniel.

[grenadesandohana]

"You ruined my board shorts!"

[hatesparadise]

"You left me alone in the apartment!" And, as a cat, it felt way more terrible than it normally would to have his alone time.

"You were a cat!" Steve said. "I'm not taking a cat to a party!"

"Well, maybe you shoulda!" Not at all.

[grenadesandohana]

"They judged me enough without bringing my partner, the cat, with me," Steve huffed.

[hatesparadise]

"I'm not normally a cat!"

[grenadesandohana]

"They didn't know that! They're new!" Steve said.

[hatesparadise]

Danny rolled his eyes before pushing past him. "I need a coffee for this."

[grenadesandohana]

"And probably a toothbrush," Steve added.

He'd missed him dreadfully.

"Love you too." This was just how they expressed thselves sometimes.

"I didn't miss you!" Steve blatantly lied as he started the coffee pot.

"You tell me that after I recount all the cuddling!" Danny shouted back, going to find the new Navy merch to steal from Steve after having fur for a week.

"You were extremely needy!" Steve retorted.

[hatesparadise]

"Needy," Danny muttered to himself, getting dressed quickly before going to join him for real food and coffee. "I'm not needy. You're the one who encouraged me to sleep on your chest."

Clearly a kitty hardship. Not full of purring at all.

"Well, it was that or deal with the crying," Steve said, nodding.

[hatesparadise]

"Crying. Really." There was a little crying when Danny had been cruelly abandoned outside of the bathroom at one point, yes.

"Turns out you're a loud cat," Steve said, pouring Danny a cup of coffee even though the pot was only halfway through brewing. "Go figure."
