Steve had basically shoved Danny into going home to shower and change his clothes while he supervised the rest of the evacuation. Which Danny didn't fight him too hard on.

Because a shower? That sounded amazing.

Which was why he spent way too long in there before finally coming out to find the most comfortable clothing he could find to go sit outside on the lanai to just enjoy being able to see the sun again.

"You are so lucky I didn't put gel in there," Danny grumbled, batting Steve's hands away.

"If you had, my hand would still be stuck," Steve told him.

"For that? I'm not making pancakes tomorrow."

He super still was.

Steve gaped at him. "But pancakes!"

Danny held up the hand not latched onto Steve to keep him place like a teddy bear. "Well. That's on you."

"No, it's you being mean to me," Steve decided. "Now I won't start the coffee before I go on a run."

Lies.

Danny made an offended sort of squawking noise at that. "You wouldn't."

"It's a perfectly reasonable escalation!" Steve said.

"So, what? No breakfast for anyone?" It would be a disgustingly sweet breakfast with banana chocolate chip pancakes and fresh brewed coffee.

"Looks that way," Steve said, tsking oh-so-sadly.
