Danny wasn't specifically a boat person, even with his current home being on an island. And his other home also being on an island. But he was at this yacht parade thing anyway for Steve.

And also to enjoy how miserably cold the guy was in the winter.

Look, date night was fun for a variety of reasons. Sometimes you just had to lean into it.

"You want to borrow my scarf?" Danny asked.

Danny snickered at that. "Not callin' for it, no."

"Okay, good," Steve said. "Not that it's not pretty and whatever."

But it was not his favorite. At all.

"Delicate, tropical flower," he teased quietly as someone came over to get their drink orders.

And who would have guessed they had Longboards here!

Steve kicked him under the table. "I'm not delicate. I'm a badass tropical flower."

Danny snickered. "But you're definitely a flower."

"One that eats things," Steve said.

Danny shot him such a look for that. Suuuuch a look.

Steve beamed at him. "Yes, Daniel?"

"Tab's in your name." Oh, hit him where it hurts!

Steve laughed. "Of course it is. Jerk."

"I'm just sayin'!" Danny replied, grinning as he bumped his foot against Steve's.

"For as cheap as you say I am, I'm buying dinner a lot," Steve said.

"That is because I don't let you 'forget' your wallet anymore," Danny replied.

"I did that twice," Steve protested.

"Okay, okay," Danny said, snorting as he reached over to snag Steve's hand. Like someone who just enjoyed casual affection.

"Thank you," Steve said, stopping his grumbling.

"What'll we bicker about once we have a joint bank account?" He had to ask as the beers were brought out to them.

"I have faith that we'll come up with something," Steve said, laughing.

"Maybe something about your butter habits," Danny suggested with one last squeeze if Steve's hand to drink his beer.

"There is nothing weird about my butter habits," Steve told him.

"Butter. In coffee." It was an abomination!

"It's good!" Steve said.
