Once the party was over with and Steve couldn't hide nearly as efficiently as he'd been leading up to it, Danny was able to corner him with judgmental and worried looks. Both at once, really. Because he was just really good at them.

"How many extra weapons are hidden around the living room now?" he asked before Steve could slink off to do whatever wound up SEAL stuff he was itching to do.

Steve slung his arm around Danny's shoulder and sighed.

"Will Hawaii help you relax?" Because he needed to know for the kids.

Steve nodded. "Definitely."

He knew that house was secure.

"Okay. We'll go home," Danny said simply. And look at him calling Steve's place 'home',

Steve smiled. He wasn't so stuck in his own head not to notice that. "When?" he asked.

"The morning," Danny said, giving his hand a squeeze. "Unless you wanna go now?"

Steve shook his head. "Tomorrow's fine," he said quietly.

"Tomorrow morning then," Danny replied, kissing the back of Steve's hand. "Gotta get set up for the kids anyway."

Steve snuggled in closer and let his eyes drift closed.

"Get some sleep," he said, letting Steve lean on him as long as he needed. "I'll... I'll keep watch."

"I'm not sleeping," Steve said. "Just resting my eyes."

"Fine, rest your eyes, then." This was a sweet gesture, Daniel. Don't somehow make it bickering.

"Five minutes," Steve mumbled.

"More than five," Danny muttered, tugging one of the blankets over Steve.

"Only need five," Steve said, sliding down to rest his head across Danny's legs.

"Uh huh," Danny said like he bought that, tucking him in a little more. Because Steve was a blanket hog in the winter.

It was because the East Coast was freezing, Daniel.

"I'm good."

Delicate flower.

"Sleep, babe," Danny said, running his hands through Steve's hair.

Steve sighed softly.

He'd be drooling on Danny's pants in a minute.

Yeah, he'd hold it against Steve later on. After he got a little bit of sleep.

Because he was going to get him as much as he could right now.

Steve's sleep was decidedly restless, but he was out for a good half hour.

And Danny's legs were fully asleep, but he wasn't complaining just yet. That would be after Steve woke up and seemed more human.

He made little noise, idly touching Steve's head as he looked up from his phone.

Steve finally startled awake, bolting out of Danny's lap and staring wide-eyed around the room before calming slightly.

"Steve?" Danny asked, knowing better than to touch him right away.

Steve startled again. "Oh. Hey, Danno."
