The weather was once again nice enough to allow for Steve to grill, which meant everything was being grilled. Absolutely everything was being grilled.

That was how you knew it was Steve's turn to cook.

"This practice for that party coming up or..." Just showing off for date night? Could actually be both, really.

"I like the beer!" Danny called back, popping the tops off to toss them in the garbage rather than leave them on the counter. He was clearly trying to make the night relaxing for Steve.

Steve loved you so much for that, Danny. "Because it reminds you of our beach?" Steve called back.

That's part of why he liked the beer.

Just long term relationship things.

"Our beach now?" Danny replied, grinning as he offered Steve his beer.

"Well, it comes with our house, so yes," Steve said, taking the beer with a smile of thanks.

"Kinda like the sound of that," Danny said, toasting him.

Steve smiled. "Part of why I said it," he said, flipping the steaks with his non beer-holding hand.

"This mean I get to rearrange the kitchen cabinets?" Daniel, you know that wasn't happening.

"Absolutely not," Steve told him.

"Just a little bit!"

[grenadesandohana]

"Why?" Steve said. "What's wrong with the way they are now?"

Danny wasn't going to say stuff was stored too high. But, you know, it was.

"It's not ergonomic."

"Ergonomic," Steve repeated, clearly amused.

"Ergonomic," Danny agreed firmly.

Steve leaned in to kiss him, still grinning. "You're ridiculous."

"I'm being helpful here," Danny insisted, kissing him back.

[grenadesandohana]

"How is it helpful to me if you rearrange where I keep my stuff?" Steve asked.

"Our stuff." No take backs!

[grenadesandohana]

Steve wrinkled his nose up. "Fine. But I'll put it back if I don't like it."

Because he was a control freak.

"You are such a weirdo."

This would become a constant back and forth that would cause the kids to sigh a lot.

Steve flipped the steaks onto a plate. "I'm not that weird."

Untrue.

[hatesparadise]

"Uh huh," Danny replied, holding up the next plate.

[grenadesandohana]

"You're humoring me," Steve guessed.

[hatesparadise]

"Would I do that to you?" Yes. Because Steve would do it to him too.

"You would 200 percent do that to me," Steve told him.

[hatesparadise]

"Nahh," Danny replied, tugging him into a kiss before heading over to the outdoor table with his plate.
