So maybe it was a dreary day for a date night, but why mess with tradition? At least it wasn't miserably hot out and that's all that mattered to Danny.

That and Steve not tormenting him with weird pizza abominations. Was that likely to happen tonight? Always up for debate, honestly.

Either way, it was going to be a nice evening spent watching the Paralympics.

"Fortunately, I didn't get injured like that out on the front lines," Steve said.

"And you better keep it that way," Danny said, leaning into Steve's side in a way that could be considered both possessive and surly.

If you went and got yourself shot, he would be so upset, Steve.

"I will do my very best to remain in one piece," Steve promised.

"Damn right," Danny replied. Because he needed that kind of confirmation.

Steve leaned in and kissed him again. "You'd drag me from Hell to yell about it."

"Good that you know I would."

It'd end up with organ donation and things getting weird between them.

"Well, I like to pretend that I know you," Steve said.

Danny snorted and tugged him into another kiss. "Sure as hell better. You're marryin' me."

"Yes, I am," Steve agreed. "Once the renovations are done?"

"Once the renovations are done," Danny agreed. Wow, look how easy that was.

For all the surface bickering, the relationship part was pretty easy! "And it gives me an excuse to poke Kamekona's cousins into working faster."

"Oh, good luck there, babe," Danny said, laughing.

"So, June," Steve agreed, laughing along. "How's June?"

"Gives time for my family to come out to Hawaii for it," Danny replied. "It's not a cheap flight from Jersey."

"Well, we live there, so we can make sure we don't hold it at the height of tourist season, too," Steve offered.

"Which feels like always with traffic," Danny grumbled.

Steve laughed. "True, but less in September?"

[hatesparadise]

"Less so," Danny granted him. "You thinkin' September then?"

"I think it depends if you want to wait an another entire year," Steve said.

Danny took a deep breath, considering it. "I think the actual ceremony and party stuff? Yeah, I don't mind waiting. But if you want the legal stuff sooner, I don't mind that either."

Sooner. Yes. Ahem. It definitely hadn't already happened and ignore that slightly shifty look on Steve's face.

"That sounds good."

Danny narrowed his eyes suspiciously at that whole look. Because he knew Steve, damn it.

Steve grinned winsomely at him. "Daniel?"

"What did you do?" Well, did he expect something less blunt from Danny?

"Contingency planning," Steve said.
