MCA #0, Friday Evening

Well, it was Friday, but more importantly, it was Friday and there was a new episode of one of the shows that Danny and Steve could watch and get just too invested in.

Which also meant date night.

"I'm starting it if you don't hurry your ass up!" Danny warned from the living room.

"He didn't even win German week," Steve muttered.

"Because he was baking for Germans and not the Brits," Danny agreed. "Who have the worst palates."

"They do," Steve huffed.

[hatesparadise]

"You remember when they tried to make Mexican food," Danny replied. "The horror."

[grenadesandohana]

Steve shuddered. "The mispronunciations!"

[hatesparadise]

"Guess we should be glad they never tried anything from Hawaii," Danny replied. He still couldn't get some of the street names right.

"Can you imagine?" Steve asked, laughing. "Making coco puffs."

[hatesparadise]

"They could never," Danny replied firmly.

[grenadesandohana]

"They'd put something horrifying inside them, like fish," Steve said.

[hatesparadise]

Danny made such a face. "Thank god they stopped trying those."

"They've ratcheted back a little on the crazy," Steve agreed, "though this guy just made a sewing machine out of cake--"

"At least they didn't demand that it be functional."

Because that was coming! For sure!

"And so far none of them are gonna haunt my nightmares," Steve added with a grin.

That Ziggy Stardust cake bust, on the other hand...

"What, you don't like slicing into someone's cake face?" he drawled.

[grenadesandohana]

"Strangely enough, I don't," Steve said.

[hatesparadise]

"What kind of Navy SEAL are you?" Danny couldn't help but tease.

Steve poked him in the stomach. "Not after that one bachelor party," he completely made up.

"Oh, and what happened there?" Somehow, Danny wouldn't even be surprised if it was real.

[grenadesandohana]

"It turns out that a cake that looks just like the woman you're gonna marry isn't as romantic as you thought it'd be," Steve said. "SEALs don't always make the best choices."

[hatesparadise]

"Oh, I'm shocked, babe!" Danny replied. "This here? My shocked face!"

[grenadesandohana]

"You don't look that shocked," Steve said.

[hatesparadise]

"I assure you I am," Danny replied, laughing.

[grenadesandohana]

Steve snorted. "Sure you are."

[hatesparadise]

Danny snorted and leaned more heavily into Steve's side. "We're not doin' that for our wedding cake."

"No, we're doing it with that grenade bouquet," Steve said.
