MCA #0, Saturday Morning

So, Danny had definitely jinxed himself with hoping for a nice, calm weekend. A series of nice, calm weekends even!

He opened his eyes to find an assortment of those weird porg things on his bed and--was that a blue deer?

"No," he tried in a firm voice as one of the porgs pounced, attempting to smooth his hair into place. "Steven!"

Totally normal roommate boundaries, Danny! Totally normal.

"They're wishing you a wonderful, joyful day," Steve translated. As porgs do.

"And now I need them all to leave so I can get dressed. Alone." Oh, the number of big, sad eyes aimed at him now.

"Aww, now they're sad," Steve pointed out unnecessarily, herding the porgs out of the room. "C'mon guys, I'm making eggs!"

...and now he was getting yelled at by porgs.

"Burn 'em a little for me," Danny said, going into the master bathroom to change. Off screen. He didn't know why.

Family show, Danny! Apparently!

"You get what you get and you don't get upset," Steve sing-songed.

[hatesparadise]

One of the porgs warbled out that tune again and then another one joined in, and then another.

It was going to be a musical number now, Steven.

Much to Danny's horror because he found himself humming it too.

Wait until the choreography kicked in! And the way that the kitchen implements just...moved around the room by themselves!

All completely normal.

STEVE, YOU KNEW IT WASN'T.

Danny arrived in the kitchen to find this happening and wanted to go back to his bedroom to hide immediately. But the deer cruelly shoved him forward with it's head.

"Breakfast is almost finished," Steve sang--literally--as a porg finished drying the pots and pans.

"What are you making?" Danny asked, stumbling forward in a very cliche fashion. That deer was stronger than it looked.

Oh no, he might fall!

Not if Steve and his big, strong, biceps for the moms and some of the dads had anything to say about it!

He caught Danny before he got close to falling. "Easy there."

"...thanks." It wasn't a swoon, but it was close.

It was adorable, judging by the crooning porgs, but Steve was ignoring that because it was What He Did.

"You're welcome!"

And if his heart was beating a little faster than it should be for that complete lack of real exercise, that was only his business.

Oh, of course it was!

Danny was sort of stuck on how pretty Steve's eyes were for a moment there. "Did you find the coffee?"

"I got caught up in the song, so not yet," Steve said, eyes flicking to Danny's mouth for just a second. "Maybe you'll have better luck?"

Oh, but the moment could only build and then get immediately dashed by an animal sidekick somewhere.

"Maybe," he agreed,

Dammit, porgs, you mood ruiners.

Steve should probably put Danny back up on his feet but that would occur to him in a little bit, when the music stopped swelling.

Well, it didn't help that Danny was cradled so tenderly in Steve's big, strong arms, did it?

And look at those Disney Princess eyes gazing up at him as they moved closer together.

The eyelashes were ridiculous, it was true. "Good morning--"

They lived together, right? They were probably married because family friendly world? It was logical!

They could be from a very progressive Disney movie that gained a lot of controversy for living together, yes.

"Good morning," Danny replied, not rightly sure how to pull away. And if he wanted to.

The Concerned Christian Women for Judginess haaaaaaaaaaated them. "So. Coffee?"

Still holding Danny, yes.

It was Lefou all over again!

"You'll have to find it." WHY WERE THEY INCHING CLOSER? DAMN THIS MUSIC.

THE MUSIC WAS QUITE PUSHY.

"Maybe the birds drank it all."

[hatesparadise]

"The birds?" Really, Steve? Really?

[grenadesandohana]

"They had a lot of energy in that dance number," Steve said, finally kissing Danny between the eyes and putting him back on his feet.

There. Family friendly and confusing! Win-win!

SO CONFUSING, YES.

Danny blinked a few times at that, opening his mouth like he needed to comment on that before deciding that no, no that was not the right option here. Might have been the opposite of the right option.

"How can birds even dance?" he asked instead, trying to shoo one away from the cabinet to search for coffee before he ended up with a stress migraine.

"I imagine they practiced, Danny," Steve said, putting eggs, bacon, waffles, pancakes, toast, fruit salad, sausage, and that weird half grapefruit with a maraschino cherry that was always on cereal boxes onto a plate.

This had all been made during a four minute song.

Yeah, that was a lot of food. But shouldn't they just barely have time to grab a single waffle as they left so the animators didn't need to bother with it?

"Uh, you went all out, huh?"

"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!"

Educational content right there, Danny.

"Thanks," Danny settled on after a moment. "That was very nice of you."

Again, educational content.

"You're very welcome," Steve said because good manners were always in style and it annoyed the Uptight Christian Karens for Righteousness.

They would jut be upset that they were allowed in the same room at the same time. Also, those longing looks. Those too.

"Might wanna keep it up after come Monday morning too," Danny muttered.

Well, after Cath got written out, it was a fairly dude-heavy show. What can you do?

"I'm always polite."

Nope.

"I'll hold you to that." And he would, Steve. Oh, he would.
