Danny had been a cat for over a week. Which had been both better and worse than that weekend people turned into ponies.

But now he was human again. And sleeping inside the linen closet because cat things.

"...what the hell?"

He was still going to be mad about it, though.

Steve would do a lot to get Danny to say his name like that, so he kept going.

He was certainly going to get his named babbled like that if he kept surprising Danny like this. "Jesus, babe," he choked out.

Steve pressed one hand into Danny's hip hard enough to leave a bruise and took the other one to push against the bruise he'd left on Danny's right leg.

Steve: overachiever in all aspects of life.

He really, really was! Because he needed to drive Danny absolutely insane with that.

"Steve--" The urgency in his voice hopefully let Steve know that a mess was about to happen again.

Steve glanced up at him from beneath long, long lashes and finally moved his mouth away.

That was probably a little cold. Sorry, Danny.

"You are such an asshole," Danny grumbled. With love. Totally with love!

"Yep," Steve agreed, taking Danny in hand.

Danny's continued complaining was interrupted with a groan and an attempt to arch up into Steve's hand. "C'mon, c'mon."

Now he was just bossy.

"So bossy," Steve teased breathlessly near Danny's ear as he moved up the bed far enough that he could hold himself and Danny (well, mostly) in the same calloused hand.

There were other ways to mark someone up and Steve was into all of them right now.

"You like bossy," Danny grumbled, tightening his grip on Steve's hair for a moment.

"I love bossy," Steve gasped.

God, he was so close and he'd barely touched himself.

Danny groaned like it was punched out of him as he came without really meaning to. He'd been trying to hold off for Steve to go first, but someone had to go and get crazy on him.

Steve had some kind of insane willpower but watching Danny let loose like that was putting him under severe stress. He bit down, hard, on the meat of Danny's shoulder as he came.

"Fuck," Danny said. You know. Articulating enough for both of them.

"Did I meet the mission brief?" Steve teased, staring at the ceiling and trying to catch his breath.

[hatesparadise]

"Yes, yes it did," Danny said. And he wasn't even about to complain about the mess between them. That was how well you blew his mind, Steve.

Steve kissed him between the eyes, smirking. "Hooah."

"Hooah," Danny repeated dryly, tugging him over to use like a SEAL shaped blanket. He was a cuddler. He cuddled. Sue him.

Steve, being half octopus, would never complain about that. He wrapped himself around Danny and pulled the covers up for additional snuggliness.

Danny let out a completely contented sigh, wrapping his arms around Steve. "I'm not gonna purr here."

"You got pretty close there," Steve teased, kissing a bruise he'd left on the back of Danny's neck.

"Putz," he grumbled, letting himself run gentle fingers up and down Steve's back. Just to be able to touch him.

Steve rumbled a soft laugh. "Yeah," he agreed, moving even closer.

[hatesparadise]

Danny kept that, well, it was basically petting, he kept that up as he settled into a contented silence. Because this was the best part of the aftermath.

It really, really was, and Steve would never be the one to break the quiet. He let out a contented little noise and went still.
