Another visit to the hospital and another donation for Charlie. Though this time around, Danny was having a slower go at bouncing right back into the swing of things.

Hence passing out for a nap on the nice, new couch at the McGarrett home rather than the place he still nominally kept. Look, you get over a certain decade and suddenly you're just tired and grumpy.

Or maybe that was just Danny's base state of being.

"She's angry about new things," Danny replied with a sigh. "I'm only periodically the source of it."

"Well, if Stan and Rachel are splitting, she can come here and vent all she needs to."

"You want an angry, newly teenage girl to come here and vent?" Danny asked with a chuckle.

"Better than her going somewhere else," Steve said with a shrug.

[hatesparadise]

"True," Danny said with a little sigh, finding a comfortable spot to lean against Steve. "I've missed her."

"I know you have," Steve said, curling his arm around Danny.

"She's apparently talking to boys already," Danny grumbled.

"Sorry, Danno," Steve said, smiling, "but that was always gonna happen."

"No, that's false. I refuse."

Oh, Daniel.

Steve kissed the top of his head, grinning to himself. "Do you need water? Aspirin? That chicken soup from the freezer?"

"Aspirin," he said, making another face. "They said I'd be sore and tired, but I didn't think it would be this annoying."

"It's definitely more noticeable than last month," Steve said. "Is it a cumulative thing? Will you be really knocked out next month?"

"They didn't say it was," Danny replied, sitting up and stretching a little. "Maybe it's stress catchin' up with it?"

"Could be," Steve said, chewing on his lower lip as he mulled that over. "Meds and water," he said, pushing himself off the sofa. "Stay."

"Better be gettin' me a treat too if you're sayin' that," Danny grumbled, but flopped back over onto the comfortable couch.

"And a peppermint patty," Steve added.

[hatesparadise]

"Damn right." Steve was his favorite now.

Steve gave him a smirk and went on his sustenance retrieval mission.

The kids held a higher spot. Of course.

Danny yawned again and tried to focus on an infomercial as Stevel puttered around in the kitchen.

"Don't be falling asleep on me," Steve teased from the doorway.

[hatesparadise]

"'M not." Kind of was. "There's no game on to keep me awake."

[grenadesandohana]

"Baseball will definitely put you to sleep," Steve declared.

[hatesparadise]

"Says you," Danny shot back. "I'm an actual fan."

Who fell asleep to the games.

"I'm a fan too," Steve protested.

"You're a football fan, that's different." More or less beer?
