Yesterday was Steve's first holiday with the extended Williams clan in New Jersey and the only reason he wasn't dead was probably because Charlie was also there to split the attention of everyone. At least that was Danny's assumption.

But they were back in Hawaii now and the kids back with Rachel. Well. Charlie was. Grace had immediately run off to spend the day with her friends at a mall somewhere.

"You good, babe? Need a hand?"

He was just being a jerk to poor, traumatized Steve.

"A real mystery," Danny agreed, grinning like a dope into that kiss.

Steve grinned back. God, he loved Danny's smile.

"Did I distract you there?" Because that would be great.

"Of course not," Steve lied.

[hatesparadise]

Danny tugged him into another kiss for that. "I'm starving, c'mon."

Somebody helped him burn a lot of energy or something here.

"You want the French toast?" Steve guessed.

[hatesparadise]

"I want French toast," Danny agreed readily.

"Is it too early for loco moco?" Steve wondered.

"Not in Hawaii it's not," Danny said dryly.

"Yes, but is it too early for me not to hear you bitching about the smell of hamburgers?" Steve asked, grinning.

"See, that's an entirely different question." And the answer was yes, obviously.

"You're such a princess," Steve teased, kissing him again and going off to make an order for two French toasts.

"I am just vocal about my icks, as Grace says!" Totally different.

"You are vocal about absolutely everything," Steve said with a snort.

[hatesparadise]

"Which you should appreciate," Danny insisted.

[grenadesandohana]

"Should I?" Steve replied, laughing. "They said they'd deliver."

Steve would not be mentioning how much that cost to make happen.

"Excellent," Danny said, setting up a blanket on the couch to flop over onto with Steve. Because he was good at making stuff comfy.

Steve settled in next to him, slinging his arm over Danny's shoulder and pulling him in. "Okay. Football."

Was it a team either of them cared about? No. But here they were. "I like these days," Danny said, settling in.

No one cared about the Lions. It was a fact.

"Yeah?" Steve said with a smile. "What part?"

"This," Danny said eloquently. "Being here with you at home."

[grenadesandohana]

Steve kissed the top of Danny's head. "Even without the kids?"

[hatesparadise]

"Different kind of evening," Danny replied. "More full of shouting and people running around."

"And no one sitting between us when I try to kiss you."

Danny laughed at that. "Hey, hold onto the cuddling phase with kids. It goes away fast."
