Danny had done a perfectly normal, reasonable thing for a coworker and friend and purchased that new X-Box thing for Steve's Christmas gift. And now he was being dragged into playing a game with him.

It wasn't going terrible well for him.

"I don't understand the controller," he grumbled. "Arcade games were better, you know."

That was loser talk there.

Steve beamed at him. "I'm a big fan of fast."

Like this was maybe news to Danny or something.

"Oh, really? Since when?" DANNY KNEW THIS FROM THE MOMENT THE IDIOT GOT HIM SHOT.

"Couple of weeks or so," Steve teased.

Danny rolled his eyes and give him an elbow to the ribs without any pressure behind it. Because injured person there.

"Love you too," Steve teased, slinging his non-broken arm around Danny's shoulder.

"I'm not playing this game with you again, though." Boundaries!

Boundaries were for other people!

"Which game?" Steve asked.

They were generally playing several on different levels.

"The video game," Danny replied dryly. The other games... Well. They'd been doing that dance for four years and stopping would be hard.

The look on Steve's face said he'd absolutely forgotten about the video game.

"That's because I'm winning."

"Next time we do one of those sport games with the remote thing." He was talking about a Wii.

"I'll still win," Steve said airily.

"Not right now you won't," Danny said, tapping his cast.

"I could beat you with one hand," Steve declared like a healthy, well-adjusted person.

"And if I win?"

Steve blinked at him. "But no."

Danny shot him a look. "And when I win," he corrected.

"Uh-huh," Steve said, smiling indulgently.

"You have to relax for a week." Steve's competitive nature wouldn't allow him to turn that challenge down.

Steve made a face. "That sounds awful."

"So, don't lose," Danny said, rolling his eyes at how dramatic he was.

"I won't but you're getting all smirky about it," Steve said.
