Just Outside The Governor Mandated Therapist's Office (Honolulu, HI), Wednesday Afternoon

They'd left early that morning to get back to Hawaii for the appointment with the therapist to get it over and done with, but it was home and therefore it wasn't going to be that easy.

Between a string of jewelry store robberies getting turned over to Five-O and hurt feelings leading to honest to god homework from the shrink, this was going to be A Week.

Also, Danny swore something here weirdly tasted like pizza.

It didn't taste like pizza, it tasted like pina coladas, or at least that's all Steve had been thinking about since he woke up in the morning in Fandom.

"No, it's fine, I enjoy carrying all the surveillance equipment myself," he muttered to himself as he walked to his truck with a load of heavy black boxes.

"You say something?" Danny asked, carrying the homework given to them that Steve had done his level best to lose in short period after getting them.

Dammit, he'd been so sure Danny wouldn't look under that chair.

"Just excited to be working a case," Steve lied. "It's been a while since we've done surveillance from something that wasn't a car."

And thanks to the app, Steve was getting a little sick of donuts.

"Uh huh," Danny said, pretending like be bought that. "And no raccoons."

He did, however, maje sure to open the trunk for Steve. Helpfully. It was gonna be an awkward stakeout at all, nooo.

Steve gave him a slightly tight smile for that. "Chin says he's cleared everything with the super and he'll be waiting for keys to the apartment."

"Well, at least there'll be a bathroom." There had been some bad stake outs before, okay?

When they arrived at the apartment, Chin had not massaged the transaction as much as he'd led Steve to believe, which was doing zero for his mood.

"You can't just move into this apartment," the super was flailing. "Agnes comes back next week."

Steve's face went pinched as he could peer through the window and see their suspect's apartment clearly. "This is perfect," he said. "We're taking it."

Show the guy the court order, Danny.

Danny sighed heavily and tried to lead the man away from Steve and his stubborn mood, lest someone get shot. Also, his paperwork on this was over, away from Steve.

Thank god.

"We won't even need it that long," he said, eyeing the window for a moment as well. "Out before you even realize it."

"You don't touch nothing!" the guy yelled as Steve herded him out the door and closed it and finally looked around the apartment.

Wow. It was...very little old lady, down to the chintz sofa covered in plastic and...was that a giant portrait of a cat on the wall?

Danny looked from Steve, to the portrait, back to Steve. "It smells like desperation and regret in here."

That was mothballs, actually.

"That's mothballs," Steve said. "Hopefully our guy will show up at his girlfriend's house really soon and we can arrest them and call it a day."

"Here's hoping," Danny said, looking at the many cat figurines rather than at Steve.

Steve made a face behind his back and started moving furniture so that they could set up the surveillance equipment against the window, which startled something into racing past Danny's legs.

"Whoa, whoa!" Danny pulled his sidearm, just in case.

Look. In his defense, gremlins.

And they were both a lot tense but still. "What is the matter with you?!" he demanded. "It's a cat. Why are you pulling a gun on a cat?"

The cat in the picture, even, Danny. That cat probably had more insurance on him than you did.

Danny shot him an annoyed look for that as the cat ran past him again to go rub against Steve's ankles.

"Chin couldn't have warned us about this?"

Chin had gotten a hint of the vibe between them and wisely peaced out fast.

"The extremely dangerous kitty?" Steve said, reaching down to pick the cat up and cuddle him. "It's not Diego, right?"

This time.

"No, Deigo was a different color. I got pictures and video of him to hold over his head."

Of course he did.

Steve snickered. "He was telling me about it on Monday. The cat thing, not the blackmail."

Movement caught his eye from the other apartment. "We got a situation," he said dryly as the woman they were watching started taking her shirt off in full view of the window.

Blackmail was such a dirty word.

"Oh," Danny said, cocking his head to the side as he joined Steve, thinking it was something more important than this. "Blinds open, huh?"

They really shouldn't be watching this, but it was a stake out. You were supposed to watch everything.

"Check," Steve said, tilting his head. For, you know, proper surveilling.

Oh yeah, this was all very proper surveillance.

The subject moved through her apartment across from them, completely ignorant of the two people watching, chucking shoes and unbuttoning her pants as she went.

"Should we... should we look away?" Danny asked.

"Well, that's what we're here for," Steve said. "It's our job."

Maybe now wasn't a good time to also be setting up audio, Steve.

Danny shot him a look for that, but he attention was drawn right on back to their subject again as she reached for her pants to take them off again.

"Consummate professional that you are," Danny muttered as the woman finally walked over to close the blinds. He didn't sigh in disappointment at it, that would be weird.

"Visuals lost," Steve said, not smirking because he was a professional, dammit.

A minute later the instrument caught the sound of running water. "There. She's in the shower."
