Just Outside The Governor Mandated Therapist's Office (Honolulu, HI), Wednesday Afternoon

They'd left early that morning to get back to Hawaii for the appointment with the therapist to get it over and done with, but it was home and therefore it wasn't going to be that easy.

Between a string of jewelry store robberies getting turned over to Five-O and hurt feelings leading to honest to god homework from the shrink, this was going to be A Week.

Also, Danny swore something here weirdly tasted like pizza.

"You're scaring the cat." And Danny just a little bit.

"Cats are tough," Steve told the door. Which he was still leaning against. "Mr. Pickles is a survivor."

"Babe," Danny sighed, relenting a little here. "Sit down."

"On the terrifying grandma sofa?" Steve asked.

[hatesparadise]

"There somewhere else you can sit?" Danny had to ask.

"Not really," Steve concluded after a brief look around. He didn't want to sit behind the surveillance equipment again.

"Sit," Danny ordered.

Steve sat. The sofa was covered in plastic but it looked like it would hold his weight. Everything else was that specific kind of upholstered that looked like it would collapse if something heavier than a doily touched it.

"Let's listen to that phone call again, okay?" Focus on the case so Steve could stop looking like he was slowly dying.

Steve blew out a breath and nodded. "You can have a cookie while we listen again," he decided magnanimously.

"Oh, thank you," Danny replied wryly. Because he was having a cookie regardless. "Play it again."

"Play it again, please," Steve muttered under his breath, restarting the audio.

Danny just sighed and listened harder. "I know that voice. That one she's talking to."

"Spend a lot of time talking to jewelry fencers?" Steve replied.

[hatesparadise]

Danny shot him an annoyed look. "No, he's on TV. You know, that gold for cash guy on late night TV?"

Insomnia helped for once!

"Ohhh," Steve said, the voice slotting into place. "The one who 'even buys diamonds!'"

"Exactly," Danny replied. "If there was ever a fence hiding in plain sight..."

"Kind of embarrassed for HPD for not picking him up before now," Steve said with a little snicker, reaching for his phone to call Grover.

"Evidence is usually necessary for an arrest," Danny pointed out, adjusting the camera a little bit.

Which wasn't necessary, but he was In A Mood.

"There's no way this guy hasn't done this before now," Steve decided based on nothing. He pulled up the ad on his phone. "Look at him!"

"Well, this should be an easy one." Hopefully. Don't keep them stuck here for days.

Steve would be reduced to microwaving omelets! Don't do it!

"That would be nice and unusual for us," Steve agreed.
