Danny wasn't specifically a boat person, even with his current home being on an island. And his other home also being on an island. But he was at this yacht parade thing anyway for Steve.

And also to enjoy how miserably cold the guy was in the winter.

Look, date night was fun for a variety of reasons. Sometimes you just had to lean into it.

"You want to borrow my scarf?" Danny asked.

Danny bumped into Steve's side. "We'll make the most of it."

"He can experience a Williams family holiday." Steve was an honorary Williams.

"What's involved in a Williams family holiday, aside from cookies?" Steve asked.

"Santa, of course." Of course!

"Well, of course," Steve said, smiling. "Do we have to go to church or anything?"

Danny wrinkled his nose. "Nah. Let him enjoy the night with us and his sister."

"Cheesy movies?" Steve guessed.

[hatesparadise]

"That sounds like a plan to me," Danny agreed with a nod. "And then we can watch Die Hard after."

For Steve.

"Even though it's still not a Christmas movie."

"I'm sorry, the wind must've picked up and made me mishear you saying 'the best Christmas movie," Steve said.

"It's not! Being set around the holiday does not a Christmas movie make!"

Oh, this was an old argument.

"Of course it does," Steve said. Like he'd done at least a dozen other times.

How annoyed were the people around them by now?

"You just like that it's an action movie you can pretend is a Christmas movie."

They joined myriads of people who had been in the Danny and Steve argument splash zone!

"Yes, yes I do."

"I get the full fat eggnog for my sacrifice." Oh, like he didn't love Die Hard.

"Wow," Steve said, "Hard bargain."

[hatesparadise]

"You're getting cookies out of this deal."

And to see the look on Danny's face as Charlie passed out from all the sugar.

"What kind of cookies?" Steve checked.

[hatesparadise]

"The kind I lovingly make with my own two hands," Danny shot back.

"Will there be chocolate in any?" Steve asked.

[hatesparadise]

"Yes." Oh, was it a secret, Daniel? Or were you just winding Steve up?

"You're being a pain on purpose, aren't you."
