The case in Baltimore hit a sort of dead end until Parrish's daughter was back in town, having had the amazing luck to have been gone before her father's escape and only just back to the news of it. Which allowed Danny and Steve to speak with her about things and dig into the story he'd given them about being framed.

Which seemed, despite all the odds, to be the case.

"It just seems like a lot of work to get away with murder," Danny said as they walked away from Lauren Parrish's home.

"What kind of stuff?" Steve asked. "It might be worth it."

"Every embarrassing photo I have of you."

"She already has the otter one framed," Steve said with a sigh.

"That's just a cute one," he replied with a grin.

"I hate you so much," Steve lied.

"It's cute!" Danny insisted. "I love those pictures."

"Of course you do," Steve said.

[hatesparadise]

"Oh, because you don't have cat pictures on your phone." Mostly taken from the angle of cat!Danny sleeping on Steve's chest.

"Those are just for me," Steve protested.

"Oh, so the picture Chin put up in the office is a coincidence?" Chin was just being a team player. Really.

"Maybe Chin just likes cats," Steve said.

"Uh huh."

Look at Danny's doubtful face. Look at it.

"He contains multitudes," Steve said solemnly.

Danny rolled his eyes and offered over his phone as they headed out of the place and back to the car. "You're insane."

Steve laughed at him. "And you were a cute cat."

"Because you're a cat person." And Danny was a person. Who was sometimes a cat.

"Cats are awesome," Steve agreed with a smirk.

"Yeah, yeah. Tiny little ninjas. We're still not gettin' one."

"I get one every now and then when you become one," Steve teased.

"Hopefully it doesn't become a thing with the kids," Danny sighed.

"Maybe if they lived with us on the island," Steve said.
