Yesterday was Steve's first holiday with the extended Williams clan in New Jersey and the only reason he wasn't dead was probably because Charlie was also there to split the attention of everyone. At least that was Danny's assumption.

But they were back in Hawaii now and the kids back with Rachel. Well. Charlie was. Grace had immediately run off to spend the day with her friends at a mall somewhere.

"You good, babe? Need a hand?"

He was just being a jerk to poor, traumatized Steve.

Danny kissed him again for it. "All I ask."

Steve held on even more tightly. "Well, it's what we do. Hold each other up."

"And occasionally knock each other upside the head." That sounded about right, yeah.

"Well, sometimes you need that too," Steve said with a laugh.

"...nahh," Danny said, grinning ad he pulled away.

Steve grinned. "Okay. You need it more than just sometimes."

"I'm pretty sure it's you who needs it most of the time," Danny replied, gladly falling into their usual bickering here.

"Oh, you've made that very clear," Steve said, biting Danny's neck high near his ear.

Danny made a pleased, soft noise at that, tilting his head to allow Steve to keep it up. "Well, it's true."

Steve bit down sharply. "You think it's true."

"Oh, I know it's true," Danny said with a little shudder.

He was getting Steve to waste water here. Total red letter day.

Steve moved to the other side of Danny's neck and bit down there too.

What water bill?

"You need--a firm hand," he sighed happily. Look, give him physical affection and he was a happy camper always.

"Oh, I need a firm hand? Not you?"

[hatesparadise]

"Uh huh," Danny replied, leaning back into him.

Steve's hand slid low. "I think you like a firm hand too."

Steven. Terrible line.

Danny just had to laugh at that, shoulders shaking from the effort to keep it contained. "Babe."

"You get to marry this," Steve said, grinning.

[hatesparadise]

"You plannin' to put that into the vows?" Danny asked.

[grenadesandohana]

"I have put absolutely no thought into the vows," Steve admitted.

[hatesparadise]

"Do we even want them?" Danny asked, laughing again.

[grenadesandohana]

"Personalized ones?" Steve asked, "or vows in general?"

[hatesparadise]

"Either," Danny shrugged.

[grenadesandohana]

"I want to make that promise to you," Steve said, surprisingly earnest about it.

"Yeah?" Danny asked softly.
