MCA #0, Friday Evening

Well, it was Friday, but more importantly, it was Friday and there was a new episode of one of the shows that Danny and Steve could watch and get just too invested in.

Which also meant date night.

"I'm starting it if you don't hurry your ass up!" Danny warned from the living room.

"Oh, Mr. Stepping Out of His Boundaries doesn't want to try it?"

Danny didn't either, but still.

"If Raiden made it, I'd consider it," Steve said, "but not this guy. His accent is insane."

"Okay, that's fair." What even was it? "Maybe another contestant can do it. I like the guy with the neck kerchief. The farmer."

"The lady with the headscarf looks pretty composed, too," Steve said.

"Oh, top three at least." Guys, it was the first episode!

But they were good at reading a room! Or something!

"Dimples McPonytail better step up his game, though," Steve said.

He wanted him to stick around! For reasons. Aesthetic reasons.

"We'll just have to see where he ends up in the technical." They were so wrapped up in this show.

"I knew Paul was going to hate the miso," Steve said.

[hatesparadise]

"Paul hates a lot of things." Danny did too. It's why he judged. "No booze, huh?"

"Feels unnatural," Steve said with a grin.

"I feel like you'd do some coconut and pineapple cake, soaked in rum for this."

The pineapple just to mess with Danny.

"Sounds pretty good," Steve said. "The me on this show is a talented cook."

[hatesparadise]

"The coconut would make it claggy," Danny said, just butchering the accent.

[grenadesandohana]

"That word's on the drinking game I just decided we're doing," Steve said. "Same with overworked."

"Oh, are we now?" Danny asked, laughing.

[grenadesandohana]

"Yes," Steve decided with a nod. "It'll make it better."

[hatesparadise]

"Beer or actual drinks?" Danny had to ask.

[grenadesandohana]

"Beer until the semi finals," Steve said.

[hatesparadise]

"Deal." Oh, they were going to be so hungover then.

[grenadesandohana]

Definitely during bread week. "What the hell is this technical?" Steve asked.

[hatesparadise]

"Bullshit is what it is," Danny replied. "I'm a decent enough baker, but if you did this to me? Hell no."

"I don't even know what goes into marzipan," Steve admitted.

[hatesparadise]

"Almonds? Pretty sure it's almonds."

That's all he had, though.

"Is this a British thing? They're just making these incredibly complicated stupid cakes regularly? Like how they think everyone knows a Victoria sponge is a cake?"

"I thought those things were Australian, honestly." He was thinking of lambingtons.
