The case in Baltimore hit a sort of dead end until Parrish's daughter was back in town, having had the amazing luck to have been gone before her father's escape and only just back to the news of it. Which allowed Danny and Steve to speak with her about things and dig into the story he'd given them about being framed.

Which seemed, despite all the odds, to be the case.

"It just seems like a lot of work to get away with murder," Danny said as they walked away from Lauren Parrish's home.

"My health is just fine," Danny shot back, having to cut himself on a rant about how Steve was the cause of his health issues in nearly getting him shot. It was a little top soon for it.

"You do something," Danny grumbled. "You know what this is missing? Some of those kettle chips."

"Next time we'll get 'em to go and you can mess with the sandwich away from the eyes of the locals," Steve teased.

"You're just hoping to get this more often," Danny shot back.

"Maybe," Steve agreed. "It's good!"

"And ninety percent meat," Danny added for him.

"Mine's probably 15 percent horseradish," Steve said, laughing.

"Oh, big difference. My apologies."

"You are forgiven," Steve said with a wink.

Danny snorted and gave him another little kick. "I'll grant you this is a repeat."

Steve looked unnaturally pleased about that.

"Don't let it go to your head." Too late.

"I do what I want," Steve told him sweetly.

"You are such a putz." He said it with love!

"It's my best quality," Steve said.

Danny snorted, shaking his head before he noticed his phone again. "Huh. Three people got a response on that ad. Wanna guess what they all had in common?"

"Jail time?" Steve guessed.

[hatesparadise]

"Got it in one," Danny replied.

"I am very smart," Steve told him.

[hatesparadise]

"You're somethin' alright," Danny said, but he grinned in a way that implied he was flirting with that insult.

"You love it," Steve said, winking.

[hatesparadise]

"Remains to be seen," Danny shot back with a grin.

[grenadesandohana]

"Eat your sandwich and remember how right I was," Steve said.

[hatesparadise]

"I will finish my sandwich and do no such thing."

They flirted in the weirdest ways.
