Well, it was Friday, but more importantly, it was Friday and there was a new episode of one of the shows that Danny and Steve could watch and get just too invested in.

Which also meant date night.

"I'm starting it if you don't hurry your ass up!" Danny warned from the living room.

Danny laughed and poked him back. "I'm just sayin'! He's not long for this world."

"So you're in it for the cash and the baking," he said. "Very mercenary."

"What can I say?" Danny asked. "I'm a mercurial man."

Steve laughed and took a sip from his beer. "I've known that for years."

"And I have successfully hidden that I am a shameless gold digger," Danny replied, laughing along with him.

Steve poked him again, laughing. "You're only in it for my beachfront property! It's all so clear!"

"You figured me out," Danny replied, squirming away from the poke. "Oh, and that Navy pension."

[grenadesandohana]

"You are going to be sorely disappointed with that pension," Steve teased.

[hatesparadise]

"Oh, now I'm really rethinkin' this whole engagement," he teased.

Steve laughed. "The scandal." He turned his attention to the television. "...can you eat linseed?"

"...I guess?" Danny said, making a face. "Should you eat linseed might be the better question."

"Don't you use linseed oil to clean mold off of stuff?" Steve asked. "I'm not eating that."

"Cutting boards, I think," Danny said. "But I guess if we eat sunflower seeds and avocados, maybe linseeds aren't terrible?"

"I'll see what Paul's face does," Steve said, "and decide from there."

[hatesparadise]

"I'll watch Prue." They were splitting up the work!

"No one's added booze for no reason, have they?" Steve asked. "Speaking of Prue."

"It's just the first episode, give 'em time."

Someone would soak something in gin.

Steve pointed to the screen. "Miso does not go in cakes!" he said, sounding aghast.

[hatesparadise]

"I'd try it in a cake so long as they don't try to put it on a pizza." That sounded like a challenge, Daniel.

[grenadesandohana]

"I do not want either of those things," Steve said.

[hatesparadise]

"Oh, Mr. Stepping Out of His Boundaries doesn't want to try it?"

Danny didn't either, but still.

[grenadesandohana]

"If Raiden made it, I'd consider it," Steve said, "but not this guy. His accent is insane."

[hatesparadise]

"Okay, that's fair." What even was it? "Maybe another contestant can do it. I like the guy with the neck kerchief. The farmer."

[grenadesandohana]

"The lady with the headscarf looks pretty composed, too," Steve said.

"Oh, top three at least." Guys, it was the first episode!
