It was hot out. And it wasn't the Hawaii hot, it was the kind of hot that Danny had definitely willfully forgotten about back in New Jersey.

Which was why he was more than willing to let Steve talk him into traveling way too far to get ice cream on the mainland as a sort of date night. While trying desperately to not melt the entire time.

"I can't believe I'm saying that I miss the summer in Hawaii," he grumbled as they got to the shop.

"Watch the road, will ya?!" Because now Danny was clutching the 'oh shit' handle.

"I'm watching the road fine," Steve told him.

"You're drivin' like a crazy person!" Danny replied.

"I'm just keeping up with the other crazy people," Steve told him.

"You are not, you putz," Danny sighed, pressing the brake that wasn't on his side of the truck.

"So you just want me to let this moron go across three lanes and turn left right now?" Steve asked.

"I want to make it to the place alive is what I want!"

Again, this was their love language.

"We're getting there just fine, Daniel," Steve said, whipping throught a yellow light.

"THAT WAS A YELLOW."

"YELLOW MEANS GO."

[hatesparadise]

"IT MEANS SLOW!"

[grenadesandohana]

"I was already moving!" Steve said.

[hatesparadise]

"You sped up!" Danny shot back.

"Don't block the box, Daniel," Steve said, zipping into the parking lot.

"Jesus, babe!" Again, this was all with love.

"We're here!" Steve said, ignoring the complaints.

"I hate you so much," Danny grumbled. He definitely did not.

"Sure you do, buddy," Steve said, hopping out of the cab.

[hatesparadise]

Danny grumbled and followed after him with a little more of a struggle. Because it was needlessly high up. No one needed to be this high up in a car.

Steve needed to be this high up, okay.

"Ready to set records?"

"You mean beat you?" Danny countered with a grin. "Damn right I am."

"You're not going to beat me," Steve told him. "Let's find the hardest one."

"Fine." Those poor employees didn't deserve this.

They did not.

Steve looked at the choices. "Well. Not the jailbreak, but anything else. The crazed scientist one could be fun."

"What's that one that says challenging there?" Danny asked, peering around Steve at the options.
