MCA #0, Friday Evening

Well, it was Friday, but more importantly, it was Friday and there was a new episode of one of the shows that Danny and Steve could watch and get just too invested in.

Which also meant date night.

"I'm starting it if you don't hurry your ass up!" Danny warned from the living room.

It was going to be the bananas, wasn't it? "I can definitely make something following a recipe," Steve said, judging the contestant who was just winging it.

Danny swore they had an overripe one in the freezer. Somewhere in the freezer, Steven!

"Oh, she's goin' home," Danny said, leaning against Steve.

"Maybe not this week, but in the first three," Steve agreed.

They lulled into silence as the show continued.

"The Bronx?" Daniel, focus here.

[grenadesandohana]

"So I know who you're rooting for," Steve said.

[hatesparadise]

"We'll see how he bakes," Danny said like he wasn't automatically rooting for the guy. Because he was.

[grenadesandohana]

"Just remember that you can't leave me for him," Steve teased.

[hatesparadise]

"Better hold my interest for it," he drawled back.

"I'm also not a hundred and forty years old like him," Steve said, pointing. "I'm feeling good about my chances."

"Well, is he rich?" Danny joked.

"Hey!" Steve retorted, poking him in the stomach.

Danny laughed and poked him back. "I'm just sayin'! He's not long for this world."

"So you're in it for the cash and the baking," he said. "Very mercenary."

[hatesparadise]

"What can I say?" Danny asked. "I'm a mercurial man."

[grenadesandohana]

Steve laughed and took a sip from his beer. "I've known that for years."

[hatesparadise]

"And I have successfully hidden that I am a shameless gold digger," Danny replied, laughing along with him.

Steve poked him again, laughing. "You're only in it for my beachfront property! It's all so clear!"

"You figured me out," Danny replied, squirming away from the poke. "Oh, and that Navy pension."

[grenadesandohana]

"You are going to be sorely disappointed with that pension," Steve teased.

[hatesparadise]

"Oh, now I'm really rethinkin' this whole engagement," he teased.

Steve laughed. "The scandal." He turned his attention to the television. "...can you eat linseed?"

[hatesparadise]

"...I guess?" Danny said, making a face. "Should you eat linseed might be the better question."

[grenadesandohana]

"Don't you use linseed oil to clean mold off of stuff?" Steve asked. "I'm not eating that."

[hatesparadise]

"Cutting boards, I think," Danny said. "But I guess if we eat sunflower seeds and avocados, maybe linseeds aren't terrible?"

"I'll see what Paul's face does," Steve said, "and decide from there."
